Family fun!

Justin and I both did some shopping on Friday morning. I usually go out late Thursday night or really early Friday morning, but I was just so tired this year. Justin went shopping around 6 AM, and I eventually headed out around 7:45. It's nice that we live so close to the mall/main shopping area.

We spent the rest of the day watching football and resting.

We took the kids out for supper, and then headed to Sky Zone. :) I think Justin is hooked -- he loves that place! So do the kids and I.

Justin even talked me into doing flip (which we have on video) -- and I managed to not injure myself. :)

The kids had a blast and were definitely worn out after our hour of jump time.

Thanksgiving Part 2

We enjoyed the rest of Thanksgiving Day with my family. The kids had fun playing games ...

... and so did the adults ...

This was a pretty intense game of Barrel of Monkeys!

Jordyn learned a new game with Aunt Sharon and Uncle Josh ...

After supper, we went to the indoor light show. We have an outdoor one like this just a block from our house. Our kids love these light shows!

We came home and found this ...

The kids were excited!

It's safe to say we were all exhausted by the time we got home!

Thanksgiving Part 1

Our Thanksgiving break from school was quite busy, but we had a lot of fun!

On Wednesday night we had supper with Justin's parents, his grandma, his brother and our two nephews. Then we played at Grandpa Marlin and Grandma Shelli's house for a couple of hours before heading back home.

Daddy lost ...

On Thursday morning, the kids and I finished a snowman ornament that we had started on Wednesday.

Then we headed to Justin's grandparents' house for lunch.

Jayla and Aaron were born just two days apart. They don't see each other often, but they sure became good buds while we were there!

Grandpa Marlin and Grandma Shelli with the 5 grandkids!

There are 10 great grand children -- only 9 were there for Thanksgiving, but it was fun to get a picture of them. (We can't wait to see Camden in December!)

After a delicious lunch and a lot of play time, we headed to my aunt and uncle's house for the afternoon and for supper!

Snow angels

I'm over the snow.

I played in the snow with my kids several days in a row (and had lots of fun) ... but now I'm ready for it to melt. Unfortunately, we are currently in a winter storm warning, which means a lot more is coming!

I guess we'll have plenty of snow to continue making snow angels!

Chalkboard fun!

I love decorating our chalkboards!

Tree Decorating!

Our Christmas tree is up! We always put our tree up the weekend before Thanksgiving.

I absolutely love our tall tree since we have tall ceilings! I owe a huge thank you to Justin for helping me with the top. Even when I stand on our little ladder, I can't reach the top without feeling like I might knock the whole thing over ... so I had to have Justin put all of the decorations at the top. He had to be a little creative with the vision I had in my head. :)

When we were in college, I baby-sat for two kids from the daycare that I worked at. Justin and I became close to this family and the two kids. Justin would come over when I baby-sat and bring his football gear for Ben to wear. (They are also huge UNI supporters!) Our last Christmas in Cedar Falls, right before we got married, each of the kids picked out an ornament and gave it to us. That was 10 years ago! I keep those ornaments in a box with their Christmas picture from that year.  I had Jordyn take a picture of us with the ornaments, and I sent it to them. We still keep in contact with them, but we haven't seen them since Jax was born. They came to our house about a month after Jaxon was born. I'm thankful for facebook, because we are easily able to watch each other's families grow!

The finished product! I love it!

I absolutely love decorating the chalk boards that I have! I think this one will stay the same the whole season. :)
