I realize all of these posts are going to be picture-overload, but the views were absolutely amazing!
Our morning started off very early on Monday morning. We all loaded buses for an hour bus ride to a ski lodge for breakfast, and then a gondola ride up the mountain.
We rode on an open chair on the way up. It took about 15 minutes to get to the top.
We were lucky enough to see a bear on our way up!! I realize you have look carefully, but it's that brown spot in the middle of the picture. Most people didn't get to see it - I was pretty excited that we did!
Made it to the top!
Lake Louise is just over my right sholuder in this picture.
It started to rain as we were getting ready to head back down, so we rode in a closed chair on the way down.
After the gondola ride, we had a short bus ride over to Lake Louise. I cannot even describe the beauty of this place.
Then we left on a 4 hour guided hike. We had 8 people in our group, along with our guide. Our hike was 5 miles, and we went up 1300 feet in elevation.
We made it to Mirror Lake - another beautiful view!
We made it! This is Lake Agnes. We had lunch at the Tea House near Lake Agnes, and then we started our hike back down.
Everyone in our group was from Midwest Family, and after some extra chatting, we realized that Linda knew several people from my hometown - including one that I had just run most of a 5K with!
Starting our hike down!
Going on this hike was one of the best decisions we made. It was an awesome workout, but the amazing views were the best part.
