Banff - Day 5

Day 5 was the end of our trip. We ate an early breakfast and loaded the bus at 8:00 to head to the airport in Calgary. The trip went really fast, but we loved every minute of it.

We were excited to head home and see our kids though!

We are so thankful for the help that my parents and Justin's parents gave us with the kids while we were gone. We know the kids had blast spending time with them, and we hope that they didn't wear Grandpa and Grandma out too much! We are also thankful that Jade and Megan were able to help out for a few hours on Thursday until we got home. The kids apparently had fun there, because two out of the three didn't want to come home to see us! Jayla even told Megan that she would just sleep at their house! Ha! :)

Banff - Day 4

We didn't have much planned for Wednesday, but we managed to stay busy! We decided to walk into town and shop for a while.

We had a yummy lunch at Tony Roma's.

After shopping and lunch, we headed to the pool.

Then we walked to the Bow River/Bow Falls.

We needed to take a picture with our Barefoot shirts - but Justin forgot his. I had two along, so he borrowed one. Ha!

After a little rest, we were off to one final meal!

These are Justin's co-workers that we traveled with ...

Another great day in Banff!

Banff - Day 3

We had another early start to our day! (Who sleeps in on vacation??!!) Justin was golfing, so I had breakfast with him before he left. He golfed all morning and part of the afternoon. While he golfed, I worked out, went to the pool, and then went on an hour-long river float.

Again, the views were unbelievable.

Justin said the golf course was amazing!

He had a really amazing shot from this bunker!

The Bow River ran along side the golf course, which is also the river that I did the hour-long float on.

A view of the castle from the golf course ...

These were my views while he was golfing ...

The indoor pool ...

... and the outdoor pool, which was very warm - I loved it!!

Floating down the river ...

After golf and the river float, we had some extra time, so we walked to the Canoe Club in Banff and rented paddle boards!

We found some elk on our way there (look carefully in the first picture - ha!)

Right behind us in this picture ...

We had never paddle boarded on a river before (we had several times on the lake - and the ocean). This was a river you did not want to fall in -- the water was about 40 degrees! Most of the river is only about 2 feet deep, and the water is so clear.

The best part - Justin didn't fall off!!! Ha! :)

After our 25 minute walk back (because the Canoe Club was across town), we were exhausted. In less than 24 hours, we had hiked, golfed, worked out, walked to Banff twice, and paddle boarded (which is a fun work out). I laid down in bed, and I struggled to get out to get ready for dinner. Everything hurt - I literally rolled off the bed to try to get out. Thank goodness for a hot shower to help with some soreness!

Banff - Day 2 (part 2)

After our hike and bus ride back to the castle, we had about an hour to get ready for the social hour and then our meal. Two of our social hours were outside - with just so many beautiful views!

Every meal was pretty fancy (salmon, prime rib, steak, lobster) - they took pretty good care of us!

This was probably my favorite salad! I know it looks kind of plain, but there was something about the dressing that was so yummy!

Proud of my hubby for his hard work!

After our meal ended (which was about 10:00-10:30 each night), Justin and I walked downtown to Banff. It was about a 15 minute walk - and we prayed that we wouldn't run into a bear the whole way there in the dark. :) Ha!

We went to this awesome little restaurant/bar - Eddie's Burgers and had some fun drinks ...

... and poutine!

I had never heard of poutine until we were in Mexico in February. One of our favorite workers at our resort was from Canada, and she was telling us about it. It's french fries, cheese curds, and gravy, and it was pretty darn good -- and so super unhealthy! But, now we can say we tried it! We were planning to take a taxi back to the castle, but after eating that, we decided a 15 minute walk back would be good for us. Ha! :)
