Black Hills Day 1

We took our third trip to the Black Hills with the kids! They were so excited to go!! We stay at a campground that Justin insures. The campground is beautiful, and we love to go there!

We left on Friday at about 11:00.

Everything was going smoothly ... kids were doing great ... we had only stopped once (it's a long car ride!) ... and then, there was that moment when our cruise control shut off on it's own, Justin looked down and realized something awful. We were out of gas. If looks could kill... Here we were in the middle of SD ... out of gas! You can go miles and miles and miles without being near a town. The good news was that we were just a couple of miles from a town. We made several phone calls, and we were able to get a tow truck to bring us enough gas to get into town. We sat on the side of the road (in 90+ temps) for about 45 minutes, so we were thankful when the truck arrived!

What an experience!

Finally we were back on the road. After we got there and unpacked and ate, we headed to the pool! Our kids would have been happy just swimming for our entire trip!

After swimming, we took a little break. Then we headed back outside to play some mini golf!

After mini golf, it was bedtime! It had a been a long day, and we were all tired!

Summer fun!

Our kids love to play in the back yard!

Jordyn was the swimming teacher, and Jayla and Jax were the students. :)

Silly kid!

I grabbed a ski show magazine for Jaxon - he spent hours looking at the one from last year, and he has once again spent a ton of time looking at the new one! This kept him entertained during swimming lessons. :)

I had my friend, Kelly, bring two of her kids over the other day for a play date. Theo is a little older than Jax, and Adalyn and Jordyn are the same age and are very good friends. They were in the same kindergarten class. The kids had so much fun playing together!

Our kids would spend every waking moment swimming or playing at the park if they could. It's a good thing that we have a park just two blocks from our house!

His smile makes me smile!

So thankful for all of this summer fun!

Swimming Lessons!

Jordyn and Jayla just finished up two weeks of swimming lessons. Other than when they were babies, they hadn't been in lessons. The girls were in the same level, and they learned so much in the two weeks. We are so very proud of the girls - they worked so hard and learned so much! Jordyn was able to pass to the next level. Jayla will do Level 1 again. Jayla was okay with that. She was a bit scared at first (and had tears the first two days - but was so proud of herself that she didn't have any tears after the first two days). Jayla also knows that in order to do Level 1, you have to be at least 5, and she just turned 5.

Here's Jordyn practicing her float ... Jayla is on the side of the pool in the pink/yellow suit.

Jayla's turn!

Jayla is floating - Jordyn is on the side ...

Jordyn ...

Daddy was able to stop by and watch on the fourth day. Jax was pretty excited! :)

Playing London Bridge is Falling Down ...

Testing day! Jordyn's float ...

Jayla ...

I know this picture is far away, but Jordyn jumped off the diving board on her last day of lessons. :)

Justin was able to come to their last day as well to watch them test.

We swam a ton this last weekend, and Justin and I were both so impressed with how well both girls are swimming!
