Visting My Sisters and O-Town Friends!

We have basically been living out of suitcases for the last few weeks.

Two weeks ago we took a quick trip to MN to see my sisters (and Eric, Calvin and Josh) and then a quick trip to Owatonna to see some of my friends! I was actually doing two 31 parties too, which was one of the reasons that we headed there!

We got there on a Wednesday. While the girls and I were at the party, Justin, Jax, Eric and Calvin played at the park. Justin loves bulldozers! (He calls them bullbozers.)

I think my sister has a better picture of this, but it was pretty cute .. Kandi, Jordyn, Jayla, Calvin and Jax ..

On Thursday morning, Kandi and I took the four kids to a petting zoo and park. It was such a fun morning!!

Jaxon could not get enough of this tractor!!

Jordyn and Calvin hiding in the tractor ...

We spent the afternoon playing at Eric and Kandi's house - the four kids had so much fun!

They played so hard -- this is what nap time looked like ...

Besides all 4 kids sleeping, Justtin, Kayla, Kandi and myself were all sleeping on the floor/couch too. It was pretty funny when I woke up to sleeping people all around me! :) I'll be nice and not post the pictures of my sisters sleeping.

After nap, Jaxon wanted to hang out in Calvin's crib. :)

On Thursday afternoon, Justin and I headed to Owatonna. My sisters, Eric and Josh so nicely kept our kids while we were there. They also had Josh's two nieces, so they took everyone to the park!

Kiki and Jaxon ...

The poor girls had to push/pull the wagon with the two boys. Ha!

I had so much fun doing a 31 party with some of my closest Owatonna friends.

Janeen, Nichole and myself ...

I taught with Janeen and Nichole and they were such a blessing to me. They were two of our biggest supporters while Justin and I went through fertility treatments. Janeen taught second grade and Nichole taught fourth grade with me and was mentor for my first year of teaching. I miss these two so much -- so glad I spent the evening with them!!

After the 31 party, we headed back to Eric and Kandi's house to stay one more night. The guys decided to hang out in the hot tub ...

We packed up on Friday morning and headed home. It was a fast trip, but it was so much fun!!! Thanks to Eric and Kandi for letting the 5 of us stay at your house!!

Slip and Slide!

We got the slip and slide out the other day. The kids love it. I'm not sure why I hadn't take it out of the garage earlier in the summer.

Justin had to show the kids how it's done. Ha! He's about as long as the slip and slide. :)

Love this goofy guy!

I'm so glad these kids love to be outside!

Jaxon ~ 2 Years 10 months

Jaxon - You will be 3 years old in just 2 short months!

\

Jaxon ...

... weighs about 40 pounds, and I'm guessing about 40-41 inches tall. We haven't measured him for a while.

... wears mostly 3t-4t clothes, size 9-10 shoes.

... wants to play outside all. the. time. It is often a kicking/screaming fit when we have to go in the house. He loves to swim, play with his squirt bottles, play with sidewalk chalk, drive the Barbie car, and ride his bike and scooter.

... likes to play "house" with his sisters. He is usually the dad. When he's in "dad" mode, I'm not allowed to help him go potty or get anything he needs. He's the dad and he can do it by himself! :)

... does not calm down to go to sleep at night. He had been doing better, but between him and Jayla, our nights are not going well. It doesn't matter if we put our kids to bed at 7:00 or 10:00, it takes Jax and Jayla at least 45 minutes to stop rolling around in their beds/throwing fits. They just cannot slow down.

... talks nonstop! We love listening to him -- it's funny to hear him using words like actually and obviously (thanks to Jordyn).

... loves daycare, but is really struggling with drop off. He has really become a mommy's boy this summer, and no matter when I leave him, it's usually difficult. The one or two days a week that he goes to daycare usually results in a 10 minute screaming fit. I'm hoping that will all change when we're back on a normal daycare schedule in a few weeks. If not, this Mommy will be stressed before work every day! He loves daycare and often cries when I pick him up because he doesn't want to go home. Stinker!! :)

... loves parks - and asks if we can go to every single one that we drive by.

... continues to make me laugh and wears me out all the same time!

We love you, Jax!

Field Trip to DQ!

Jayla's class took a field trip to Dairy Queen! It was on a day that the kids didn't go to daycare, so we met them there!

We got a tour of the place, ate some ice cream and the kids the got to decorate an ice cream cake!

Who doesn't love a Dilly Bar at 9:30 AM? :)

The Zoo!

The kids and I love going to the zoo . Justin's grandma gives us a zoo membership for our Christmas present each year. :)

Last week the kids wanted to go, but we only had a short amount of time. I am so glad we went though because the animals were all out and playing! So often we go and the animals are sleeping. Everything was out and playing!

I know it's hard to see, but the albino alligator was swimming ...

The monkeys put on a show for the kids! They were swinging right next to the window, and then they would tap on the window at the kids. It was so funny!

Jax loves to climb!

The tiger was out playing in the water and mud ...

But our very favorite was the bear! He's usually sleeping, but he was roaming all over and climbed up on the log for us. He kept looking right at the kids! We loved it!!

So glad we made a quick 45 minute stop at the zoo!
