Jaxon ~ 1 Year 7 Months

Jaxon is another month older! With each new month, I think that he will start to slow down, not be so daring, and let us relax for more than 3 seconds at a time ... but that hasn't happened yet! :)

Ha! He loves to do what his sisters do! Gotta love the pink vest that he put on!

He's pretty talented ...

Jaxon ...

... weighs about 31 pounds.

... wears size 5 diapers, mostly 2T/3T clothes, and size 6 shoes.

... knows a lot of words, but only talks when he wants to. He would rather just yell/scream when he wants something. :) Some of the words he knows are: Mama, Dada, puppy, ball, football, apple, more, please, thank you, hi, bye-bye, Jayla (haven't heard him say Jordyn yet), Gigi (Gizmo), uh-oh (his favorite word), owie, book, bubble, balloon, milk, Elmo, cow, moo ... those are the words we hear the most often from him.

... loves to eat fruit snacks, bananas, yogurt, chicken nuggets and anything that his sisters are eating. He also loves milk!

... cannot get enough of outside time! We finally had nice weather for a few days (with 4 to 6 inches of snow predicted again tomorrow - ugh!). Jaxon played outside for hours at a time - and threw the biggest fits when he would have to go inside. Two straight hours of playing in the sun and he still wanted to play some more. We spent most of our weekend playing outside!

... likes reading books, doing puzzles, and playing basketball.

... still has no sense of fear of him. This child is something else ... standing on the kitchen island, opening and crawling into the dishwasher, opening the oven (I HATE that he figured that out. One of us stands guard to the oven when it is being used), flips off of the indoor jungle gym at daycare (and has taught the other kids to do it too - except they are all getting hurt doing it - he's a pro at it), jumps off the couch and usually has a nice landing on two feet, lays on the window sill by Jordyn's bed (almost like a cat would) ... this list could go on and on and on. It takes both Justin and myself to follow him around constantly.

... loves daycare but has had some rough days. He has been biting lately. Ugh. Unfortunately, he learned to bite there ... he had been bit a number of times, and now that is what he does. I asked that they start to transition him to the next room. Because he was so mobile at 5 months old, he was moved to this room super early. Most kids don't move until closer to 12 months. Well ... that means he's been in this room for a year already. He loves the room and his teachers, but I think he's also a bit bored. There are six kids older than him in the room, but they are going to start letting him spend time each day with some older kids. I hope it will help him. :)

... gives the best hugs and kisses!

... has been on a better sleep schedule ... but he HATES his crib. He is so much like Jayla. Jayla was out of the crib by this age, but Jax is not ready for a bed yet. He's into everything. Putting Jax to bed has been rough lately, but once he falls asleep, he usually does well.

... sat still at daycare for 5 minutes reading books the other day and his teachers thought something was wrong. Ha! They couldn't believe he was able to sit still that long!

... sure helps us with our exercise! We never have a chance to sit with this little guy around! :)

We love you, Jaxon!

Warm Weather!!!

It's amazing how we can go from getting 7 inches of snow on Monday to a complete warm up of 80+ degrees Friday-Sunday! I am so thankful that winter seems to be gone! :)

We had such a fun weekend! On Friday, I used a personal day. I didn't have anything planned. I went for a run in the morning, cleaned up some landscaping and sat outside and read. It was such a relaxing day. Our house needed to be cleaned, but for once I ignored that. (The cleaning lady comes this week ... she can take care of it. :))

Justin and I had a night out on Friday night. The girls stayed with my parents and Jax stayed with Justin's parents! We were so thankful for their help! We celebrated a friend's 30th birthday. I'm not sure what we're going to do once we are all 30 ... we'll still have to find a reason to get together often. It's been fun celebrating so many 30th birthdays!

On Saturday we celebrated Logan and Ryleigh's 1st Birthday! I have a lot pictures to share, but I don't have them all uploaded yet so I will share those later. We had a great time celebrating the twins, and then we spent the afternoon at the farm ... we played outside for 2 hours. The kids had a ball - and boy were they exhausted!

Today we went to church and then spent the rest of the day playing outside again. (Can you tell we've been cooped up in the house for 6 months?!) We played in our backyard, walked to the park, played in the backyard some more, went on another walk, ate two meals outside. We LOVED the weather!

Our kids were exhausted! They slept the whole night last night and all took three hour naps today! Hopefully tonight will be another good night!

Since I don't have too many pictures ready to share, I will just share a few from the park today. Trying to take pictures though wasn't easy since we were so busy chasing Jaxon! :)

The girls on the teeter totter!

Jax has no fear - he goes down every big slide by himself!

And sometimes he doesn't just go down them ...

We will soon be heading back to 40 degree temperatures - I am so glad we soaked up as much sun as possible the last few days!

The Girls!

Jordyn has informed us that she no longer knows how to smile for pictures. If you paid close attention to many of the pictures of her on my previous posts, her smiles don't usually show her teeth. She said she doesn't know how to do it anymore!

I was able to get her to say "cheese" and I snapped this one just in time to see her teeth. :)

Such a cutie!

I completely laughed out loud with this one! Jayla asked me to take a picture of her being silly! Ha!

We sure love those girls! (and of course we love our little guy too - I just haven't uploaded the most recent pictures that I have taken of him)

Birthday Money!

Jayla got some money for her birthday, so we took her shopping!

She picked out a new Twins hat, a soccer ball, a new Dora book/magna doodle, and a harmonica. Yes, a harmonica. We have a plastic one that she loves but it hardly works. Well, wouldn't you know it, she found a better one a ToysRUs. It's pretty funny to listen to her - she LOVES it!

We thought that Jax and Jordyn might like new Twins hats too - so now they are all set! (and Mommy and Daddy recently got new Twins hats too)

Jayla's 3rd Birthday!

Once again, I am behind on posts!

Jayla turned 3 last Tuesday. We had such a fun time celebrating with family the Saturday before her Birthday. Jayla wanted to go to ChuckECheese the day of her birthday.

Before we left I wanted to get a couple of quick pictures of the Birthday girl. :)

She loves her brother!

I can't believe that she is 3 already!

Fun at CEC's  ...

This picture of Jax makes me laugh so hard ... :)

After CEC we headed home so that Jayla could open a couple of gifts ... she sure had a her fill of gifts on Saturday and Sunday, but she had two more to open ...

A new Barbie from Jordyn and Jax ...

And a new princess dress from Dad and Mom ...

We were all tired of eating cake, so we ended her celebration with M and M cookies. :)

Jayla, we can't believe that you are 3! You were so excited for your Birthday - you just wanted everyone to sing Happy Birthday to you and your eyes lit up each time you heard the song!

At 3 years old, you weigh 40 pounds, wear mostly 4T/5T clothes, and size 9 shoes.

You love puzzles, reading books, Mickey Mouse, any kind of ball, and playing with Jordyn and Jaxon. You talk nonstop and you make us laugh so hard with some of the things you say. You are a great singer and can tell some funny stories! You are finally becoming a better sleeper. (I'm sure I just jinxed us since I typed that.) You are still very independent and can get very upset if we try to help you. You still have some great temper tantrums - we are hopeful you will stop that soon. :)

Jayla, Happy 3rd Birthday! We love you!
