DDR!

I mentioned in my last post that we spent our weekend at home this past weekend. I had the girls dressed alike both days (which doesn't really happen too often), but Jordyn begs for pictures to be taken when they are dressed alike!

This is another shirt we got the girls in Vegas ... Vegas Chicks! (And ... their shirts are the same size and their leggings are one size apart!)

Also - when Jordyn asks to have her pictures taken, she immediately goes to the steps. We honestly don't spend a ton of time on the steps, but by the looks of all our pictures, you would think we play on them constantly!

Jordyn and Daddy were playing catch with the ball ...

They love each other!

I also mentioned in the last post that Justin taught the girls how to play Dance Dance Revolution on the Wii and some games on the Wii fit. Of course it's more like jumping and running around with a 2 year old and 1 year old, but the girls had a blast!

Jayla needed a turn too!

Jayla was so into it! She was jumping and dancing around!

I know I cut Justin's head off, but I was focusing on getting the girls!

Jayla kept clapping and yelling during the songs - and Jordyn was copying Jayla! It's funny to see how many times Jayla will do something cute and then Jordyn joins right in too!

My favorite picture of the two ...
Jayla's newest thing is crossing her arms. Jordyn noticed that Jayla was doing it, so Jordyn quickly did it too! We laughed so hard at them!

Ending with a few pictures of our cuties ...

One last picture ... This poor guy doesn't get much time on the blog anymore ...

Our Weekend

We had a nice weekend at home. We haven't had too many weekends at home this summer, but we have enjoyed each one that we did have.
On Friday night BJ and Devin came over. The girls had a blast playing with them, and I think that Jordyn wore BJ out with all of the racing and running they did in the back yard!

On Saturday we played a lot, all took naps, and did a little shopping. Shopping with Jordyn and Jayla right now almost causes anxiety and stress to me just thinking about it! I'm pretty sure that when Baby J arrives, our shopping trips with all of us will be few and far between. :)

I had the girls dressed alike on Saturday, and Jordyn was begging to have her picture taken. She was super silly - and she had to have her Elmo slippers on to match her Elmo shirt. She loves to jump off the bottom step, and she had to have her picture taken. :)

Jayla decided to join the pictures too. :)
Doesn't Jayla look super long/tall in these pictures?! She's only a few inches shorter than Jordyn. She has hit a huge growth spurt recently. She hasn't really gained any weight, but she has sure gotten taller!

Kisses for Jayla!

We just love that these girls are such good friends! :)

We spent most of today relaxing. It seems as though that is about all I want to do right now. Ha! Actually I went on two bike rides this weekend and we all went on a long walk this afternoon. Exercising still feels great, but I am definitely slowing down a little!

The girls also swam for a little while today, and we (mainly Justin) taught them how to play DDR on the Wii and also some games on the Wii Fit. Pictures to come soon - the girls were hilarious! :)

Week 2 of school begins tomorrow!

Last Weekend of Summer!

My summer has ended ... School started on Monday. I can't believe how fast the summer went. We were incredibly busy the whole summer, did a lot of traveling, and hardly sat still. We loved it! Now I'll work for about 4-6 weeks, and then I'll be on maternity leave!

We spent our weekend at the lake with Justin's parents. We hadn't been there in about 5 weeks. We headed up Friday night, and we came home Sunday afternoon.

The weather was great! We swam, went on the boat, went out for lunch (to Bracco's - the girls could play in the sand while we waited for our food), and went to Arnold's Park ... we had a great time!

Grandpa and Grandma bought new toys for the girls (and future boys) to play with! (Side note ... these things, along with every other toy, come in a million pieces. They each only took about an hour to assemble!)

Yikes ... Jayla was letting her baby ride in the car, and we told her to give it a kiss. She's normally great to her dolls - this time she decided to throw it out of the car!
We took the girls down to Arnold's Park on Saturday. Jordyn has 3 rides she loves ... the boats, the dragons, and the carousel.

The boat operator and Jordyn ...

Cheering for her sister! Jayla is a little too young to go on the rides this summer.

Being silly on the carousel ...

Finally, a ride that Jayla can go on. :)

Of course a trip to Arnold's Park wouldn't be complete without ice cream!

Jayla loves ice cream!!! She does an incredible job with ice cream cones!

I can't believe summer is over. Of course we'll still enjoy every possible minute we can outside, and we still have plans to be at the lake, but now I'm back to work! We've had two days of school - both went great. Unfortunately, Jayla has been sick though and has missed both days of daycare this week! We are hoping she's ready to go tomorrow. We aren't sure if she has a little bug or if she is getting teeth. I kind of think it's teeth.

It is time to sign off and get ready for day three of school!

Jayla ~ 16 Months

Jayla turned 16 months old last week. I actually had her post done, but I just didn't get a chance to upload the pictures. She is getting harder to take pictures of - she wants to run away from the camera. :)

What is new with Jayla?

Jayla ...

... weighs about 28 pounds (90th percentile). We just had her 15-month wellness check (a month late) on Monday, which she was not a fan of! She wanted nothing to do with being at the clinic and basically screamed through the entire appointment. She's definitely following in Jordyn's footsteps! (A side note about weight/height - the girls are only about 3-4 pounds and 3-4 inches different in weight and height right now!)

... has become a great helper around the house! She loves to sweep the floor and if she finds paper on the floor she takes it right to the garbage to throw it away. She also tries very hard to put her sippy cups in the sink when she is finished, but she can't quite reach it yet.
... is an awesome sleeper. She goes to bed between 7:00 and 7:30 and sleeps until 6:00 or 7:00 in the morning. She is doing great! (Update ... the last week has been rough with sleep - hopefully its due to teeth.)

... has about 6 teeth. I say "about" because some of the teeth aren't in all the way yet.

... has become a little pickier with her food, but she is still a great eater! She doesn't eat quite as many fruits as she use to, but she still eats very well. Some of her favorites right now are ham, cheese, grapes, turkey, animal crackers, and fruit loops.

... is quite a chatterbox. Some of her words right now are: Daddy, Mommy, Gigi (Gizmo), baby, hi, bye-bye, night-night (and she lays her head down when she says it), puppy, uckie (duckie), ooo (shoe), more, yeah, mine, book, ball, owie, ouch, blankie, and stinky. I know there are other words that she is saying, but I can't think of them right now.

... loves to sing and listen to music. She still loves Old MacDonald - she sings the e-i-e-i-o. She also does actions to Twinkle Twinkle, and yells the "ouch"part of "I'm Bringing Home a Baby Bumble Bee."

... can show us her toes, feet, tummy, and hands if we ask her. She also knows her eyes, ears, and nose - but she does tend to mix them up every once in a while.

... wants to wear her shoes all the time - except in the car. There are nights that she tries to sleep with them on. So why doesn't she leave them on in the car?!

... is still constantly on the go, but has slowed down just a tad from where she was a month ago. Thank goodness! :)

Happy 16 Months, Jayla!
