Jordyn ~ 2 years 9 Months

For the first time in months, Jordyn was begging to have her pictures taken! They turned out so cute! :)

What is Jordyn up to?

Jordyn ...

... still weighs about 31-32 pounds. She is definitely getting taller, but she isn't putting on any weight. She's still super healthy though!

... wears 2T and 3T clothes and size 7-9 shoes, depending on the style.

... has been eating quite well lately. She isn't really eating any new foods, but she's eating larger amounts. Thank goodness. Grandpa Buzz did get her to eat half of a carrot! We made such a huge deal out of that, considering she hasn't eaten vegetables since she ate baby food!

... loves Barney, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, puzzles, books (reading is still one of her very favorite things to do), playing outside, swimming, blowing bubbles, and playing with Jayla.

... has a bit of a "hoarding" issue. She loves bags and anything else that she can stuff anything and everything into, and then has a meltdown when we empty it to put it all away. She's very possessive of these bags/items - Jayla is not allowed near them!

... has watched a little too much TV with her Mommy and Daddy in the summer evenings ... she asks to watch Big Brother, Frank and Mike (American Pickers), and the "silly show" which is Wipeout. We sure watch some great tv at our house! Ha!

... loves to introduce her family to others ... and she never forgets to mention Baby Brother! Yesterday she asked me if Baby Brother was ready to come out of my tummy yet.

... is just so sweet to Jayla (minus their few fighting minutes each day). I know I say this a lot, but Jordyn takes such good care of Jayla. We've often heard her say "come here my sweetheart" and "it's okay peanut" ... so adorable!

... told me that she can't sleep in her big girl bed because there is a lion in the room. Five minutes later she added that there is a tiger in there too.

... also told me that Jayla was going to have an "accident" in her crib today because she drank way too much juice after swimming. I guess maybe we've told that to Jordyn a few times. Ha!

Can it really be that in just 3 months we will have a 3 year old?!

MN Vacation: Day 3, 4, & 5

Our trip to MN was lots of fun! As I mentioned in the first post, we spent a lot of time at the beach and swimming.

Jordyn finally started to like the lake and her Dora floaty ...
Swimming over to Jayla ...

More beach time!

Checking out a little fish that Uncle BJ put in the bucket for the girls to look at ...

The guys did lots of bass fishing while we were there. They usually go out early in the morning and then again after supper. Justin has learned a lot about bass fishing my dad and brother over the years!
They are awesome teachers ... and look who caught a 4.5 pound bass!
We were so excited for Justin!!! :)
Catch and release ...
The guys on their bass boat!
Grandpa Buzz showed Jordyn a plastic worm ... She thought it was pretty funny!
Kandi and Eric arrived on Tuesday evening - right after bath time and just in time to get the girls wound up before bedtime. :) They were excited to see Aunt Kandi and Uncle Eric!
Since Aunt Kandi came, we decided to attempt a picture of the four (five) of us ...
The girls look so cute in their Dora pj's! (And I kind of like that these pictures hide my enormous belly!)

We had to leave pretty early on Wednesday morning, but we took a few more pictures before leaving! (I'm pretty sure Kayla and my parents were not thrilled when I asked them for some pictures at about 7 AM. Ha!)

Jordyn and Jayla were so lucky to have Aunt Kiki play with them everyday!!! (However, somehow I managed to not take a single picture of them playing together on the beach!)

A couple of quick pictures with Grandpa and Grandma! The girls were pretty spoiled by them!

We are so glad we were able to spend a few days relaxing with my family! :) It is hard to believe that we are just a day away from August. This summer has gone way too fast, and I am not ready for school to start back up!

We are home this weekend - only the third weekend of the whole summer that we have been home! It sure feels weird, but we have managed to pack our schedule full ... yard work (trimming bushes), repainting the deck, swimming, out to eat with my parents and Kayla, and more activities tomorrow!

MN Vacation: Day 1 & 2

We got home on Wednesday from a vacation at the lake with my family! We went to a resort that I grew up going to every summer. It's an older resort, but it's quiet, has a beach/swimming area, game room, and just 8 cabins. And - our family happened to be the only ones there this week!

We left on Saturday, and we got home at about 11:00 on Wednesday. My family is staying through Saturday, but we needed to come home so that Justin could get back to work. Our original plan was to stay until Tuesday and leave after supper, but Justin's work schedule changed, and we were able to stay an extra night.

The weather was absolutely perfect while we were there. We spent a lot of time at the beach in the sand and in the water, Jordyn attempted fishing, we took her on the paddle boat, had a campfire, and just enjoyed spending time with my family. Kandi and Eric weren't able to join us until Tuesday night, which was a bummer, but we were excited that we were able to see them for a little while!

I took 122 pictures - and my sister, Kayla, also took some. Don't worry, I won't share them all, but I will still share plenty!

The girls absolutely loved the beach, and they spent hours playing in the sand and filling buckets!

And ... Jayla happened to eat a little sand too. She took her paci out and filled her mouth with sand. Yuck. This picture pretty much sums how Jayla felt about it too ...
Cleaned up, paci back in, and waving to a boat ...
This kid had fun in the sand too ...

Jordyn also loved the swing set, and wanted her picture taken, but she only gave us her "cheesy" smile. :)

Another "cheesy" pose ...

This lake is extremely clean and clear (and very warm to swim in - over 80 degrees) ... and you can see lots of fish in the swimming area. Grandpa, Aunt Devin, and the girls had to check out the fish ...
Jayla did awesome in the lake - she loved her princess floaty, and sat there for over an hour each time we swam. (Jordyn didn't like the lake the first time we swam, but she eventually started to like it and floated in her Dora floaty.)

There were lots of fish in the swimming area, so Justin grabbed a net and went to work ...
(don't worry, he caught a much larger fish than this ... those pictures will be in the next post)

Jayla loved floating with Aunt Devin. One day she even slept on Devin's raft with her for an hour!
Jordyn was more content in the sand on the first day.
We took Jordyn fishing, with her Dora fishing pole. She was so excited!
She loved her first fish ...

And then she realized her Dora bobber was getting wet and had a complete meltdown - one of her biggest meltdowns yet! That was the end of fishing!

(Jayla has a princess fishing pole, but we didn't put the hook on it - so she just played with hers in the cabin)

Grandpa and Grandma made everything better by getting Jordyn a popsicle!

Kiki and Grandpa played Jordyn's version of "pool" with her ...

And this little cutie just ran around the game room. :)
I will update with the other days from our vacation later. :)
