School has been out for almost 2 weeks already! I can already tell that this summer vacation will fly by! The girls went to daycare all last week so that I could have a chance to run errands, go to the dentist, clean the house, catch up on laundry, get a pedicure and an hour-long prenatal massage (Thanks, Justin!), and just find a little time to relax. Although my week was jam-packed full, it was a much-needed week to get caught up on things and make me feel a little more ready for summer. Starting this week, the girls will only go to daycare 2 times a week. This will help keep them in routine for when they go back full-time in the fall, but also to give me a little "down time" each week.
Our spring weather hasn't been real nice to us, but we have managed to have some nice days, so we have soaked up the sun and warm weather on those days! :)
This past weekend we went to the lake from Friday-Monday. We stopped and had dinner with my parents on Friday evening, Justin's parents got to the lake late Saturday night, and my sisters, brother-in-law, and their friends came to see us on Sunday at the lake.
The weather was pretty warm on Saturday and very hot on Monday - but of course very windy. We took the girls swimming both days. The pool was heated, and the girls loved it! Jordyn loves to jump in over and over and over. Jayla surprised us and did well too. She is not a fan of bath time (although, it is getting better), so we weren't sure what she would think of the pool. She liked swimming lessons in January, but we didn't know how she would react to swimming outside in cooler water. She did well! She loves to sit on the side and kick in the water.
The girls loved to sit and watch the boats go by from the patio, but also from the bridge that is near the condo. We took a few walks with the girls, did a little shopping, and let Jordyn go on a couple of rides at Arnold's Park.
Of course a weekend can't always go smoothly with two little ones! Ha! At about 12:30 on Saturday night, Jayla woke up screaming and really just needed her paci to put her back to sleep. Do you think we could find it? We took apart the pack-and-play, ripped apart our bed, looked everywhere in our room, but we could not find it anywhere. Jayla would not stop screaming (she is also getting teeth right now) ... finally at 1:00 AM, Justin took off for Wal-Mart to go buy a new paci. We never found the thing. We have absolutely no idea what could have happened to it! I swear we lose pacifiers faster than anyone! :)
After a weekend at the lake, we are sure looking forward to more warm weather!
