This and That

I don't have my newest pictures put on the computer yet ... so today it's just some random things in a very random order ...

*Please pray for my Grandma. She fell on Tuesday, broke her hip, and had surgery on Wednesday. She seems to be doing well, but please pray for a speedy recovery.

*It's been a tough year for our grandparents ... we have had 2 grandpas pass away, 1 grandma that broke her neck in a car accident, 1 grandma that broke her hip, and a 1 grandma that had gall bladder surgery.

*Jayla had her 4 month check up yesterday ... she weighed 16 pounds 2 ounces - (90th percentile) and was 26 inches long (90th percentile). Maybe our scale is off ... I thought she was closer to 17 pounds. I'm just thrilled that she's so happy and healthy! And ... maybe it's a good thing our scale is off ... that must mean I weigh less too! :) Ha!

*We have gone a week straight without the hour-long screaming fit from Jayla! :) She's battling a cold right now (the "new daycare cold"), but she's handling it well.

*She did awesome with her shots yesterday! :) She had a little fever last night, but she never cried. :)

*We took the girls to Sesame Street Live last night. I'll post pictures later. :)

*I have already completed 2 full weeks of school! We are all starting to get adjusted to our "new" school schedule. Let me tell you, 5:45 rolls around way too early!

*We are finally staying in SF for a weekend! I think that has only happened about 2 or 3 times since May! No suitcases this weekend! :) Depending on the weather, we may take the girls to SF Zoo tomorrow ... there's a new baby tiger, baby giraffe, and a new black rhino exhibit.

*I miss sisters dearly right now ... all of them ... Kayla, Kandi, Devin, and Kathryn (soon to be sister-in-law). I think I've talked to Kayla and Kandi about every day for the last week.

*I'm tired of trying to finish losing my baby weight. With both pregnancies, I've gained 60 pounds. I'm honest, I just told the world how much weight I gained! I worked out/ran with both pregnancies, but I swear if I looked at food, I gained weight. No joke. I'm down to 17 pounds to lose this time around. I feel like I've come so far, yet I feel like I'm never going to be done. After I lose those 17 pounds, I have another 10 I would like to lose ... baby steps for now. Being back to work has made my workout schedule more difficult. I can't believe how difficult it has been to lose the weight the second time around. I started running/lifting weights 2 weeks after I had Jayla. Ugh. HOWEVER, we have been blessed with 2 beautiful, healthy, and happy girls, and I wouldn't change that for the world.

*Jayla still sleeps in a bassinet next to our bed ... it's probably time to move her to the crib, but we aren't sure if we're ready for Jordyn to move to a bed yet. Jayla will soon outgrow the bassinet, so she may have to sleep in the pack and play until we're ready to move Jordyn. We just knew it wasn't worth it to buy 2 cribs.

*I'm glad it's Friday. My house took a pretty big hit this week after being gone 3 nights straight. You can probably imagine the dishes, laundry, and dust that have so nicely piled up!

*Time to get rolling here ... have a fabulous weekend! :)

More Wedding Pictures - Lots of Them!!!

This post is just filled with snapshots from Kandi and Eric's wedding ... I'm still behind, but I'll get caught up soon! :) So for now, enjoy some (lots of) pictures, that are in no particular order.
As Kayla would say ... Jess with some of her favorite guys! :) Justin is of course my favorite. :) Chris and Josiah are some of Kayla, Kandi, and Eric's best friends. Our family has gotten to know them well, and we love when they're around!

We had the nicest ride to the reception (which you can sort of see in some of these pictures) ... we had a huge, fancy party bus complete with TV's, fridges, a bathroom, and leather furniture. It was awesome! The funniest part was that it was supposed to be a Ford Excursion limo, and it ended up being a huge bus. We loved it!

A little dancing ...

My sister, Kayla, made the wedding cake! It was beautiful!

We found a great way to keep Jordyn entertained during gift opening on Sunday morning ... put her in a box and push her around ...
Kandi & Eric - We had so much fun celebrating your wedding! Thanks for letting us all be a part of your day! :)

Jayla - 4 Months

Jayla is 4 months old! I am week behind on my post, but better late than never! :-)

What is new with Jayla?
Jayla ...

... weighs about 17 pounds! Yes, she's a big girl! She's super long!!! We will have her exact weight/length when we go to her wellness check this week, so I'll update with the exact measurements after the appointment.

... wears size 2 diapers.

... wears mostly 6 month clothes and some 9 month clothes. She's so long, so she needs big jammies!

... is finally started to get over her screaming fit at night ... knock on wood! We're on the 4th straight night without her hour long screaming fit!

... loves when we sing The Wheels on the Bus. She gets so excited!

... rolls, rolls, and rolls. She does not want to stay on her back, she constantly rolls to her tummy. The funny thing is though, she doesn't want to be on her tummy either. She is kind of having a hard time getting comfortable.

... loves to grab anything within her reach - especially on her Exersaucer.

... loves daycare! She's super giggly when I drop her off in the morning, and they continue to tell me that she only fusses when she needs to eat or wants her diaper changed.

... smiles whenever anyone talks to her. She has such an adorable personality!

... is trying so hard to sit. Jordyn sat on her own when she was about 6 months old. We will not be surprised if Jayla sits before she is 6 months.

... has started to eat rice cereal and does quite well. We haven't been giving it to her every day yet, but we'll start that soon.

... loves to blow bubbles and giggle. It's so cute!

Happy 4 months, Jayla! :)

The 4 of Us!

This post has more pictures of the 4 of us from the wedding. It was fun to have our whole family dressed up ... I was a Matron of Honor, Justin was a Groomsman, Jordyn was the Flower Girl, and Jayla had a matching dress to Jordyn so that she would feel special as well. :)

Aunt Kandi and Jordyn had matching green shoes. :) Jordyn had a difficult time leaving hers on though.

This one makes me laugh ...

Trying to get a picture of the 4 of us ... Jordyn kept trying to hug Jayla ...

Rehearsal & Getting Ready

I didn't really take too many pictures at rehearsal. I took a few before and a few after, but that was about it. Jordyn was super crabby during the rehearsal. She was fine afterwards while we ate (super happy!), but she was not easy to handle during the rehearsal. She gets overwhelmed pretty easy, and with a lot of unfamiliar people around in a somewhat unfamiliar place, she was not so happy. We survived though. :) Here's a couple of pictures of Justin and Jayla ...

Grandpa Buzz and Jordyn ... (notice no smile from crabby Jordyn) ... and I forgot to mention that we realized on Friday morning that Jordyn had a double ear infection, which might have played a part in her crabbiness! Good thing for ear drops and Tylenol!

The bride and bridesmaids ... Vashti, Heather, Devin, myself, Kandi, Kayla, Sherri, and Nikki ...

Sisters!! Devin, myself, Kandi, and Kayla ...

Grandpa Buzz with the girls ... Jordyn was super excited about the box from her gift. She didn't even pay attention to the gift! Ha!

We were up bright and early on Saturday morning to go get our hair done ... I say bright and early, because it was a late night of the wedding party putting our finishing touches on "Thriller." :)

And then it was time for the bride to get ready ... she was beautiful!

Many more pictures to come! :)
