Our Little Pumpkin/Flower

I wanted to post these pictures sooner, but we have been under the weather at our house since Sunday. I guess we partied too hard for Justin and Jordyn's birthdays. Jordyn woke up on Sunday with a slight fever and a horrible cough. I knew that meant her ear infection was back. She did okay the rest of Sunday (still coughing), but I knew we couldn't get her into the dr. until Tuesday. I had already scheduled a recheck on her ears that day as well as her 12 month wellness check. She went to daycare on Monday. We called to check on her, and they said she was coughing a little, but she was happy, playing, ate well, and didn't have a fever. I had a conferences until 7 PM so Justin picked her up at about 4:15 - when he got there she was burning up - she had just spiked a fever. They headed to acute care where it was confirmed that her ears were very infected. She got a Rocephin shot and was put on an antibiotic. Poor thing. The good news (if you can call it good news) is that she should be getting tubes soon, so hopefully that will take care of the problems. We kept Jordyn's appointment with the pediatrician on Tuesday so that we could discuss with him the plans about the ears and also because it was her wellness check. Jordyn weighed about 20 1/2 pounds and was 29 inches long. She has gained a little less than 14 pounds and has grown 10 inches!

Here's our Little Pumpkin ... 1 day old and 1 year old ...

When I woke up on Monday morning, I wasn't feeling great, but knowing I had conferences (11 of them) I didn't want to reschedule. I headed to school with very little voice and wondered how I would get through a day of teaching and then talking to 11 sets of parents! I made it, but by 7:00 I was feeling quite miserable. By the time I got home, I had a fever. Jordyn and I stayed home together yesterday. I don't remember the last time I felt that awful. I can handle a cold, sore throat, headache, but when you throw in a fever and major body aches, I was a mess. Thankfully Jordyn took a 3 1/2 hour nap yesterday morning (she clearly didn't feel well either) and I planted myself on the couch. Justin came home at noon and stayed the rest of the day. He took Jordyn to her appointment, and I again, didn't move off of the couch. My doctor put me back on Tamiflu since I had enough of the symptoms for it again. My fever finally broke through the night. I don't feel great yet, but like I said, I can handle the cold if the body aches don't go along with it. Jordyn and I will just be hanging out again today. She's still in bed ... going on 12 hours of sleep right now.

With being sick, I never had a chance to post the rest of our Halloween pictures ...

Daddy and Jordyn by Jordyn's big pumpkin ... Gpa VanBriesen saved the biggest one for the littlest family member. :)
Getting a family picture with a 1 year old and a dog isn't easy - Jordyn had had a long day by this point and wasn't willing to give up the paci.
She loves Gizmo!
Jordyn liked her Halloween costume. When we were done trick-or-treating she stayed in it for about an hour and played.

That's about all the energy I have right now for typing. I better rest a little more before Jordyn gets up and wants to play. :)

I hope you are all feeling better this morning! I can't imagine how horrible you must have felt. I am hoping tubes is just the ticket for Jordyn. Many, many people have found relief with those.

Bless her heart! I hope she gets to feeling better as well as you too. I tell ya, with this change of weather and all, it seems as if everyone's getting sick.

She is adorable in that costume.
You are such a beautiful mommy.

Hope the meeting goes well with her ears.

God Bless! ♥
