Happy Birthday, Justin!

This was supposed to be a scheduled post on the 30th ... for some reason it didn't work, but I stil wanted to post it...
Happy 26th Birthday, Justin!

How lucky is Justin that he gets to spend his birthday in the labor and delivery room all day?!?! Maybe Baby Overman will even share a birthday with him!
Justin-Thanks for all you do for me. I love you lots!!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures of the two us from our trips to Jamaica. Some are from our honeymoon 2 1/2 years ago - and some are from last summer. :) I am ready for trip #3!!

Getting Closer!

I had my last doctor appointment today! The doctor was happy with how everything was going. I was dilated 2 cm ... which surprised us both since I had just been there on Thursday and wasn't dilated at all. She reminded us that this labor could be a slow, long process since I will be induced. However, she was encouraged that I was already dilated, and she thought would be helpful!
Justin's parents came to get Gizmo tonight. I'm going to miss the little guy! I'm not sure how many days he'll stay with them, but it is very helpful for us that we have family who can watch him. My parents are willing to watch him for a little while as well.
Tomorrow is my last day of work! I can't believe we're heading to the hospital in less than 48 hours. Thank you for all of the kind words you have shared with us and for all the prayers being said for us. We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends. We can't wait for you all to meet Baby Overman!

Our last weekend with just the 2 of us!

We hope that you all had a relaxing weekend! We sure did! In fact today, we did absolutely nothing - we were almost the point of going crazy because all we did was sit on the couch! We decided that was okay though, because it will be our last lazy day for a long time! :-) It's so weird to think that this was our last weekend of just the two of us in our house! We are so excited for Thursday. The next few days will probably go very slowly for us! I am getting a little nervous for Thursday (of course extremely excited too). Please pray that everything goes smoothly for us!
Have a wonderful week - I will update soon!

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Happy Birthday, Dad!
We hope that you have a GREAT Birthday!

As you can tell, our family has a lot of October Birthdays to celebrate (including my grandpa, Aunt Sharon, and Aunt Diane as well ... and Justin's will be here soon). Hopefully Baby Overman will be included in this as well. :) My dad really wants to share a birthday with Baby Overman as well - she is going to be one loved girl! :)
Dad - we hope you have a wonderful day!

Baby Update

I had another doctor appointment today. I still don't have a lot of news to share, other than the induction is officially set for next Thursday, October 30. Lucky Justin ... he gets to celebrate his 26th Birthday sitting in the labor and delivery room all day. :)

Originally the plan was to go to the hospital Thursday evening - they just called and said that I need to check in at 6:45 AM. I'm guessing we'll having a little Halloween baby. :) Or should I say a big Halloween baby??!!

So, that's all I know for now. I will continue to keep you updated!

Not much for news ...

Hi Friends! Just thought I would write real quickly that we don't have a lot for new baby news. I am going to the doctor tomorrow afternoon - can't wait to hear what she has to say! I am still feeling good! I feel like I have a decent amount of energy yet - I'm definitely tired after work, but that's what 2nd graders do to you! :)

I will probably update after my appointment tomorrow - hopefully we have some news to share!

My parents are coming over for dinner tonight - my dad's birthday is this weekend, and we have some other plans, so we invited for them for dinner tonight. I better make sure my food isn't burning. :)

Have a great evening!

Happy Birthday, Kayla & Kandi

Happy 21st Birthday,

Kayla & Kandi!

I can't believe my baby sisters are 21 years old! They are still my "little sisters" though! I know they wanted Baby Overman to share a birthday with them, but I keep on telling them that Baby Overman wants to share a Birthday with her dad on October 30!

Here are a few pictures of us together ... enjoy! :)

We hope your Birthday is great! Love you girls - we will see you soon! :)

Happy Birthday, Heather!

Happy Birthday, Heather!

Kandi, Myself, Heather, Kayla

Me, Heather, Kandi, Kayla

For those of you who don't know Heather, she is pretty much a part of the VanBriesen family. Kayla and Kandi met her at church camp when they were little ... and have been best friends since. It did not take her long to become a part of the VanBriesen family, and we joke that she is a triplet with the girls. She was born the day before Kayla and Kandi! We love having Heather as a part of our family! Heather, we hope your Birthday is special! :)

Relaxing Weekend :)

We hope that you have had a relaxing weekend! Ours sure has been. We have been doing some work around the house, but overall, we spent a lot of time on the couch or playing the Wii. (maybe playing the Wii isn't relaxing???!!! ... Justin and I are a little competitive)
We have been trying to finish up a few things before Baby Overman makes her arrival. Not knowing when her arrival is coming is starting to drive me crazy! :) I am the type of person who has everything planned out ... not knowing is hard for me! I guess it's nice that at least I know if she's not here by the 30th, we will still be heading to the hospital!
Last night we went over to one of our new neighbor's house for dinner. They were having a group of friends over and invited us to join them. It was so nice to meet Eric and Julie (and their 3 kids), as well as their friends. We had a great evening with them!

We have another busy week ahead of us! I don't go to the doctor until Thursday, but once again, I am looking forward to what she has to say! Have a great week!

Baby Update

I had another doctor appointment today. I met with a new doctor, because mine is on vacation this week. This doctor agreed that the baby is big! Her guess is that this baby will be 8 1/2 to 9 pounds when she is born! I'm hoping it's closer to the 8 1/2 than 9! My appointment went well. Not a whole lot of news to share about it. I am not dilated at all, which she said is normal since this is the first child. My ankles/feet/legs continue to be very swollen. I can leave quite an imprint on my legs if push on them with my fact, the imprint will stay for a good 2-5 minutes!

My next appointment is next Tuesday, so I'll be anxious to find out if there is anything new happening!
The baby room is pretty much ready for our little girl. We have to hang the letters to her name yet on the wall ... but since the name is a surprise, we'll have to wait to take those pictures.

This is the Wacky Bear that Justin and I made for our baby girl - I wish that I had pictures of Justin at the Wacky Bear store. He was so picky about the outfit for the bear, and then he had to dress her at the store to make sure he liked the outfit. He also picked out the bows for the bear!

My first experience with Uppercase Living! I painted a canvas, and Justin helped me put the decal on. I don't think I could put those on my wall - I would be way too nervous that I would mess it up!

We are still working on hanging a few things in the house and putting a few (or should I say a lot) things away. I will post some house pictures soon - just want to get a few other things done. :)

Oops-I forgot that I was going to post a few pictures with the last update. Gizmo found his Halloween costume from last year when we were unpacking - so lucky him, I dressed him up! Needless to say, he still hates the costume. Here's my little witch!

I also have a couple of 8 month pregnancy pictures. Sorry, you don't actually get to see the belly pictures. :)

Still unpacking...

Hi Friends! Our Internet is finally up and running- yeah!! Now only if we had cable...Direct TV is booked so we can't get cable until October 21! So .... since we don't have cable, Justin decided we needed Wii. I've played that thing so much I'm afraid it could put me into labor!

I am still feeling great. I will admit that I'm getting to the somewhat uncomfortable stage, but I really shouldn't complain since overall this pregnancy has been an easy one. My feet are still swelling really bad, and it's going into my legs now too. As I mentioned in the last post, our baby girl will be arriving around Halloween (if not before). I am hoping she'll hold off until the last few days of October. We scheduled my parent teacher conferences for next week (we scheduled them about 3 weeks early), so I really want to get through those

We have had a great time getting the baby room ready in our new house. One of the hardest things for me when we made the decision to move to Sioux Falls was thinking that I wouldn't have a baby room to decorate. We didn't think our house in Owatonna would sell so fast, and we didn't think that we would find a house here so quickly. I remember spending a lot of time crying thinking that I wouldn't have a baby room to get ready for our little girl. As with everything else in this move, God blessed us with a new home and a baby room. :) I will post some pictures soon of the baby room (and the rest of the house).

We love our new house. It has quickly become a home to us. The former owners took such wonderful care of this home, so it required us to do very little work when we moved in.

I owe a huge THANK YOU to my wonderful husband. He has had to assemble so many things with this move - every new piece of furniture had to be assembled (including a dresser for the baby room that took 4 hours to assemble). He's such a trooper!

Also, a huge THANK YOU to our parents, Devin, and my cousin Kylea for helping us move! I kind of felt like a drill sergeant during the move. I couldn't lift any boxes, so I just sat and told each person where to go when they would come in the house with a new box. I did do a lot of the unpacking, as long as someone could bring the box to me.

We have met some very kind neighbors the past week. We are looking forward to getting to know them. Many of them came and introduced themselves the day we were moving in. It seems like there are lots of kids in this neighborhood!

I have the day off today - it is Native American Day, so South Dakota schools are closed. I went to school and worked for a few hours this morning, and then I did some shopping. :) Now it's time to get back to work in our house.

Enjoy your week! MN teachers ... enjoy your MEA break this week! I will definitely miss having those 2 days off! :)

Quick Update

Hi Friends! I just thought I would let you know the move to our new house went great! We LOVE our house! We don't have Internet hooked up yet, which is why I'm behind on postings and emails! Internet should be up and running tomorrow sometime. Yeah!

I had a doctor appointment on Tuesday. The ultrasound showed that the baby is currently 6 pounds 3 ounces, which is the 74th percentile for size. The dr. was originally concerned that the baby was somewhere in the 90's. Since the baby is a little large at this point, the doctor has planned to induce me on October 30 (Justin's birthday!) if the baby has not arrived before then.

I have more to share, but I need to sign off for now. I hope you're all having good week - I will update (with pictures) once the Internet is working at our house!
