We're Moving...

Hi Friends!

Yes, it's true - we're moving! At the end of the July, we will be moving to Sioux Falls, SD. This came up so quickly - it is hard to believe that it is happening. Justin was not looking for a new job, but an insurance company in Sioux Falls found him. At this time, we felt that we could not pass up the offer. Although we are excited about being closer to home (and Justin being excited about his new job), this is still difficult. We are leaving an absolutely wonderful community. We are leaving our wonderful friends, our great jobs, and a home that we love so much.

We are so thankful to have had the opportunity to live in Owatonna for about 2 1/2 years. It did not take us long to call this community "home." We will greatly miss our friends when we leave in July. Fortunately, we will only be 3 hours away - close enough to visit often!

We are praying that our house will sell quickly so that we can begin looking for a new house in Sioux Falls. Justin's family is coming this weekend to help him finish the deck. We are looking forward to the deck being done, but we are disappointed that we won't get much use out of it. Hopefully it will help with the resale though!
My sister, Kandi, is coming tonight and staying through the weekend. We are looking forward to having her here - and of course we wish that it would have worked for Kayla to join us too. I hope Kandi wasn't thinking this was going to be a relaxing weekend - I have a long "to do" list for us to complete. :)

Last night we had supper with some of my teacher friends - tonight it's supper with some of our Federated friends. It has been great spending time with all of them!

I am ending with a funny picture of Gizmo ... he must think it's time to go on vacation! He found an empty suitcase in a spare room and decided to snuggle in it!

Baby Girl!

Hi Friends! Justin and I found out that we are going to have a baby GIRL! We are so excited! Justin was sure that the baby was a girl - I was sure the baby was a boy! I was definitely surprised, but we are feeling very blessed. Our doctor took many pictures of the baby today .... everything from each arm and leg bone to the heart, liver, and kidneys. The doctor thought everything looked great! We were so happy to hear that news.

I have been feeling great. I did end up going to the doctor last week for some pain in my lower stomach. We were concerned that it was a cyst, since I had problems with that early on, but this time it was just a round ligament pain. I felt relieved that it wasn't a cyst.

I started summer school on Monday. This year I am teaching 3rd grade. It is a great job to have. It goes from 8-12, Monday-Thursday, for 5 weeks. I can't complain about that as a summer job!

Justin has been busy with sand volleyball (which I am really missing this summer!), softball, and working on our deck. Yes, we were FINALLY able to start the deck! The holes were dug almost two weeks ago, but we couldn't continue because of the constant rain. They finally dried out, and he was able to pour the concrete. Justin and our friend, Josh, are planning on doing the framing this weekend (assuming the weather is nice). We will be very happy when this project is done!

We hope that you have been able to enjoy some of this warm weather! Have a great weekend!

Fun Weekend!

This past weekend we went down to Delhi, Iowa, to visit some college friends. We were celebrating the upcoming arrival of Greg and Bea's little boy, Peyton! We stayed at Greg's parents' cabin, and we had a great time! All of Justin's former roommates and their wives were there. It was so great to see them. We hadn't seen some of them in over a year! The exciting news is that all 4 couples are expecting a baby! Talk about a lot of pregnant women in one house! Greg and Bea are due on July 10, Justin and myself on November 7, Jordan and Jenny on December 1, and Jarren and Jen on December 31! How exciting! Hopefully will continue to all get together at least once each year - it would be a lot of fun to see our kids, who will be within 6 months of each other, grow up getting to know each other as well! We know it will get tough since we all live in different areas (Jordan and Jenny are by Chicago, Jarren and Jen are in Des Moines, and Greg and Bea are in Pella). Below are some of pictures of our group...

And pictures with Matt, Will, and Kenny too. :)

And all of the guys...

And the 4 pregnant ladies...

We had a lot of fun with the baby shower. The guys all went golfing in the morning - the ladies sat in the warm sun and caught up on news from the last year. When the guys came back, they were tortured (ha!) with one baby shower game...they all had 1 ounce of beer in a baby bottle - they had to see who could drink it the fastest. Jordan won the event ... maybe he cheated though ... he only had water in his.

Here are the guys before the contest...

Racing to see who can finish their bottle first!

And the winner is ... Jordan ... who cheated with water. :)

We look forward to the next time we can spend time with this group of friends!

I am down to 3 days left of school! Hopefully the weather will hold out for us this weekend so that we can get some outdoor activities in! It sounds like it is supposed to rain all week though. Speaking of rain ... our deck project my never get done (or started for that matter) - the weather will not cooperate with us! The deck materials have been in our driveway for 2 weeks! Every time we have wanted to to start, it rains! We're crossing our fingers that we can start on Wednesday!

Time to sign off for now. Have a wonderful week!
